Screen tearing (screen lag or: low Frames Per Second (FPS)) The first kind of lag would be screen lag.
maybe drivers haven't caught up yet? Not sure, man. Answer (1 of 5): There are 2 kinds of lag. I know your card is Nvidia, but the point is that I suspect this game is better on older hardware somehow. It's not unheard of that newer drivers could degrade performance in some games, maybe this game just doesn't like newer gen R9's and was only optimized for HD6000/7000. Will try putting in my old video card and running again just to see if it goes back to being smooth again. even though mine are the latest, not sure what the old ones on old video card were, could have been a year or so old. Then I ran FRAPS to see what fps is, it drops from 60 to like 15 in Sauron's army screen (while it was perfectly smooth on my old and seemingly much slower video card).Īll I can think of is video drivers.
It is possible to play around with the games visuals, however, and there are one or two quality of life mods as well, but theres plenty more that wed still like to see added in to the game.
Then I tried lowering resolution lower than my native 1920X1080, played around with vsync on and off, capped fps to 60, turned off anything that uses more gpu. Sadly, Shadow of Mordor is a notoriously difficult game to mod meaning that there arent too many options when it comes to freshening up the experience.
I turned down settings by A LOT, I mean everything is pretty much medium, flora off, shadows low, particles low. Suddenly after upgrading I started getting crazy stuttering that I never noticed before. In meantime I upgraded my card to R9 280 3GB. Game ran crazy smooth, not stuttering no slow downs no frame drops. We're seeing a marginal improvement from 44FPS to 49.3FPS AVG, or.
I played through this game close to twice on Radeon HD 6950 1GB. Shadow of Mordor GE62 970M Bloatware Benchmark Here's Shadow of Mordor on the 970M unit at 1080p with Ultra graphics. Please feel free to add me on steam if you want extra info.
So guys, anybody got an advice to how to fix this ? i really wanna play this game, but the stuttering is quite frustrating. Now, the problem with the game is, it stutters ALLOT and very randomly, fps spiking from 1 to 70 then 30 then 10 then 33 then 1 etc, this happens when i move around and do stuff, i tried tuning down the graphics and untick tessellation and all the heavy stuff but it won't make a difference, the first time i installed the game it ran falwlessly on all ultra settings, stable 70-80 fps, but after the first run it just went downhill.Īn curious issue is, when i run the game and this stutter/lag happens, my whole windows also freezes, i can alt tab between stuff, but seems the windows it self also lags when the game lags, i recorded the cpu usage during gameplay i thought maybe my cpu is simply flooded with side tasks, and it won't go beyond 25% total ( game only takes 11% of that ) I7 4770, 8gb 1866 ram dual channel, gigabyte z97 d3h mobo, msi gtx 760 oc edition, and the game+ os installed on samsung evo 840.
